1988 115hp Merc won't shut off

Hi All! I?m running a 1988 115hp merc, runs good. In fact so good it does not want to stop. I?ve changed the key switch in the remote control and that didn?t help. The only way I can get the motor to shut off is to press the choke button. Any ideas? Thanks!

On your key switch there are 2 connections marked "M". One of them has a black/yellow wire and the other goes to ground. Make sure the ground is good. If it is check the black/yellow wire. It goes back to the switch boxes.

Go to the switch boxes and ground the black/yellow wire that shold kill the engine, once you know the works then unplug the engine harness plug and ck the connections hook it back up and see if that was the problem, still don't work unplug the connection and with a OHM meter ck for continuity between the black plugin and the black/yellow with the key off, if you have continuity then ck the engine connection for the black wire

Thanks guys! This is a new to me motor and turns out that neither blk/yellow wire was connected at the switch boxes. Works just fine now. Thanks Again.
