1988 135 HP Mariner What does "Marathon" indicate

Guys...I have a 1988 Mariner "Marathon" 135. What does the "Marathon" mean on this model.....if anything at all? Does it indicate anything special?

Think It might have been a marketing thing for a "salt water" motor. Don't think there is anything different about it.............Might have a backflush fitting on tha back.
