1988 25hp oil injection info needed

i just got this motor a few weeks ago and it has set up for 6 years. ive gotten it to run but i thought it would be best to put oil in the gas also in case the oil pump wasnt working . this is an oil injection motor. i think i read somewhere that the ratio for these oil injection motors turns out to be 100 to 1 . can anyone 2nd this for me. if i didnt want to use the injection could i just empty the tank and mix oil and gas at 50 to 1 ? ive heard some stories about running a motor with oil injection and they wear out prematurely if there run hard .

50:1 ..... you can run it with mixed fuel and the oil tank empty but I will suggest that you just take the oil pump off and take out the little shaft that makes it work and put the oil pump back, take the oil tank off and just plug the pipe that goes from the oil tank. I run my 30hp like this mixed 50:1, but I had to disconnect my sensors aswell. Otherwise I can't get it obove 2500rpm. I'm no expert but just sharing ... good luck
