Hey it's me again. My original problem was my boat was stalling after the elec, choke opened up. Runs rough It couldn't Idle at a speed low enough to put it in gear with the choke open. I had to push the throttle almost to full to make it run. So I had someone put a rebuild kit in last week end. I don't think he cleaned it very well and maybe just put the kit in. I'm having the same problem. once the choke opens it stalls out. the idle mix screw is at two turns out but would make no difference if it was at 1 or 5. Please give me a place to start with this. Yep the idle system is clogged if it only runs when the choke is closed because that enriches the mixture.
You need to soak the carb in cleaner and blast out all the passages with compressed air, from a compressor, a can of comp air is not powerful enough. And if you attempt this yourself, wear goggles!
