I use a 70 HP Johnson to push my work barge around the lake and lost forward and reverse, we jockeyed the barge around with a work boat tied to the side of it for a week to finish the job we were on until I could get the barge out and back at the shop for inspection. The shift rod from the upper housing down to the lower unit had dropped off the shifter arm, I found one bolt loose in the bottom of the housing that appears to be a retaining bolt for the shift rod. I have no parts or service manual for this motor and would like some direction on where to find parts related to the re-connection of the shift rod and the proper procedure for re-attaching i, I am thinking LocTite on the bolt might keep it from backing out again but I'm not sure if I just need another missing part to prevent this . See the attached photo, it was all I could find online showing parts but it is for a different motor. Does anyone have a link to instructions for re-connecting all the part back together? I'm not sure if other parts are still in the bottom of the motor, my magnet only retrieved the one bolt and before I start pulling stuff off the motor to be able to get to the shift rod I thought it best to seek advice from someone who may have had a similar issue with their motor first. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Here are the two pictures I was able to take of the shift rod connector clamp (not sure what you call it)

Also, my motor is an '82 model, not an '88 Shift Rod Connector.jpgShift Rod Connector2.jpg
