1988 70 HP Tilt/Trim assembly replacement

Hi,

I have a leak (hole) in my Tilt/trim resivoir.

I ordered a used replacement and attempted to remove the starboard side clamp to pull the original tilt trim assembly out.

I was unsucessfull removing the clamp, so i unbolted the trim motor and was able to pull the remaining tilt/trim assembly.

How do I remove the clamp to install the replacement tilt/trim assembly without having to remove the trim motor?
