1988 70hp johnson not getting power too ignition switch

so i have a too beleive 1988 70 hp johnson and i have no power to the ignition switch but have power to the starter....also checked the 20amp fuse and it also has power????any ideas? the model number is j70tlcca and ser. is g7800820

If you have 12v at the instrument side of that 20 ampere fuse and do not have 12v at the "B" terminal of the ignition switch, I would assume you have a broken wire.

once had a broken +12v in the side wiring harness of my 50 merc ...motor would die each time the steering wheel was turned to the left

I was 100 miles in the bush ....tested the wires , found the problem and had to do open heart surgery on the side harness to splice in a piece of wire ...

retaped up everything & kept fishing the rest of the week :)
