I have a 1988 80 hp merc oil injected 3 cyl. I had fuel leaking out of the middle carb. took it apart and found that the float was stuck. after freeing it and reassembly the motor and starting it up it kept dying evertime it was throttled up. Should I  dhook@bcbc.bc.ca be pulling the carbs and re-building them and if so is there anything special I need to know other than put them back the way they came out?

Welcome to iboats.com, Dhook.

If you tried to use the old gaskets on the carb you tore-down, the problem would be a leaking intake gasket. First, remove the one carb, and make another carb mounting gasket for the intake and try that. They really are only good for one try, then they are compressed, and can't seal good.

Other than that, you'll proly want to order a carb kit for it, and do a complete port cleaning on the carb.
