1988 85hp Force problems

I have a starcraft pontoon boat with 1988 85hp Force problems. Boat was running great. Sarter went out and ordered and replaced starter and solonoid. Fires at plugs and seems to be getting gas at plugs. Replaced batter cables, plugs, gas line and hand pump on gas line. Any other suggestions?

Snoope,You dont make it clear what your problem is It appears your motor wont start you dont<br />make it clear if the starter wont crank it or if it cranks but doesnt fire.

it is plain motor turns over fires at plugs gets gas but doesnt start. this motor has crossfire injection. think problem is in stator.stator has 2 small coils that look burned.

Your manual should give a procedure for testing those two burnt looking coils. Start by checking them.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

hey snoope, i've got 94'force 120hp. about 1 year ago i was pulling back up to the boat ramp about to get off the bayou,when i noticed a guy and daughter on jet ski broke down little ways down. i go over and kill engine tie rope to pull them back and tryed starting again, just turned over. wouldn't start.so pontoon boat came along and towed me while i drug that jet ski. L O N G day!! ended up being stator, mechanic man told me common on this year force motor. check manuel for voltage stator SHOULD be supplying and check yours with meter. generic stator ~ $250.00 Quicksilver stator ~ $375.00 - $400.00 not cheep.
