I have a stripped plug and no a helicoil did not work and yes i stripped it out, dang it and i was going fishing today to. so i am in the market for a used head. my question why do some people advertise the same part number on the head for an 88 to 115 hp motor. are the heads the same if they have the same part number?

I think if he already stripped out a heli-coil that a new head would be better. It is an interesting product though. I wonder if any one has tried it? I usually srick with name brand because i am old enough to not like change. But i gotta learn

Use an insert 10x better than heli-coils and you can save the head. I use the inserts on every head i have to do just as easy to do and much better. I have used inserts in cars, snowmobiles and my bikes will never use a heli-coil again. Most machine shops can do them in about an hr.

Anything that saves the head and saves you removing it makes sense to me.
