Restoring a 1988 Bayliner Capri with 5.7 V8 & OMC Cobra outdrive. I need to replace the trim/ tilt hydraulic lines from the pump to the manifold and was wondering if I can unbolt the manifold From the outside and disconnect the lines and tape the new lines to them and pull them threw to the pump? Or do I have to pull the motor and take off the iner transom mount? Thanks in advance for any info on this subject.

pull the lines, wipe with a clean rag, put duct tape over the fittings if you wont be connecting the new lines any time soon.

as for fishing the new lines in, a piece of rope is your friend.

Thanks Scott

So the answer is yes I can unscrew the lines from the manifold behind the gimble bearing?

If you can fit yourself in there, it is a VERY tight spot. I'd use the wrenches (flare wrench) you use on brake lines and fuel line fittings, you DO NOT want to strip any of those....I had mine done some years back by my trusty mechanic....
