Hello fellas....

If it's not one thing it's another. So Ive recently gone out a few times bringing fish home live which is wonderful for fresh fish! I understand that I don't gotta keep them breathing till the last second to keep fresh but it's the fact I wanna know what's up with my livewell's. Three times already I've gone out and plugged the front light well while leaving the back of one open and for some reason everything keeps flooding! I've tried switching plugs turning on and off the water in the front everything and it just keeps flooding to the point overflowing into my boat. Is there or what is the trick to get these livewell running correctly which plug should be in What hole and how does the water drain out when it gets too full? It sucks cause I'm getting discouraged every time I go out because I don't want to use them and have to air my boat out for three days to dry! What am I doing wrong????

Where are the openings in the live-wells. Bottom? Low on side? High on side? How many? Pictures? :photo:

In general water/air will enter low and overflow out the upper openings INSIDE of the Live well.
That means it will either flow out a High Opening in the side wall, or down a standpipe attached to the bottom.

Did it ever work, or is this something new to you?

There's two holes in each. One at the top and one at the bottom. This is new to me. Thank you for your reply!

many people use the live well just to keep bait alive, and put the caught fish on ice as soon as caught. But then again for salt water fishing, our targeted species don't fit in live wells!

I suspect you are not using stand pipes, but are plugging up the drain, leaving the water no place to go. And on many set-ups, they add water while you run, even through a pump, unless you shut off the sea **** or other valve, not the electric switch. And on one of mine, before I sealed up under the "rim", water sloshed up there and leaked out into the boat.

Live well set-ups are so varied that no one can tell you what yours does or doesn't do based on his own. New boats of the same btrand can have different riggers. And on used boats, many have been reconfigured. And both can do it wrong.
