Hi guys im new to this forum and this is my first post, But i have a question about replacing the carpet in my 1988 dyna trak. The floor/transom/hull etc are all solid but the carpet need to be replaced since its the original it is not so pretty anymore. I was wondering if i need to re-seal the floor with something? Before putting the new carpet down. Or is there a better solution then carpet to put on the floor? Im going to use it to fish/water sports so i could see carpet being a pain to keep clean and maintain. This is my first boat that has had carpet in it, my other boat is a Boston Whaler so no worries about the floor on that.

There's lots of options. Coatings like Kiwi Grip or Durabak, paint with non-skid added to it, or marine vinyl. I used marine vinyl on my project and am very pleased with it.

Boats have a sole or deck. Houses have floors.

If going back with carpet, just another shot of spray glue to hold it in place.

Thanks for your replies. I was checking out the Durabak website and that looks promising. I was also considering having the "Deck" sprayed with rhino liner or line x but that would be pricey to have done. Where i could just do the Duraback myself.
