I have the motor stated above. Model number is e25rrca I was wondering what lower gear oil is best for my motor. I just bought the motor from a guy and motor runs great. Just wanted to change the oil to be safe. What's the best oil I can get? Just regular 90w marine gear oil? Any special one I need for this motor? Thanks in advance.

Any gearcase lube recommended for outboard lower units will work fine.

Good luck!

Any gearcase lube recommended for outboard lower units will work fine. Amsoil makes a synthetic outboard gearcase lube that'd be about the best you could buy, but I don't know how much extra-performance you'd get out of the extra cost..

Good luck!

Stick with what the manufacture of the outboard recommends.

Maybe it's my iPad but I've been looking for the new topics link for hours and can't fin fit anywhere so this is the closet thread I can find. I have a 1988 25 hp Evinrude on a 1958 Lone Star. The tiller handle pulls so hard to the left (boat to the right) that it almost takes two hands to hold it. This is a dangerous condition, it pulls hard enough it would snap role if you lost control of it. BTW I'm six foot, 240 and have played a lot football so it's not me. I looked to see if the trim tab needs adjusting but there is no trim tab. I've googled it and also can't find a trim tab on those pics either. Is there not a trim tab on this motor, if not how does motor compensate for torque? I've read that pin angle can make a difference so I will try taking it up a hole. Everything on this motor is great, runs real strong, just have to figure and resolve the steering issue. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!, TJN
