Hello! I just bought a 16’ Sea Nymph FM 161 with a 1988 Evinrude 28 SPL. Motor has a couple small issues but otherwise runs great! First, the bulb loses pressure sometimes, it will idle and then die out when I push the throttle down, so I’ll have to prime it a bunch and then it’ll run without issue. Second, let’s say I run the motor full speed for 5 minutes or so and then fish for 5 minutes and decide to go somewhere else. I’ll fire the motor up and it won’t stay running (it doesn’t do this all the time). I’ll have to pull the choke lever up and then push it down and engage the throttle real quick to catch the motor from dying out and then it’ll run great. Third, the boat will speed up until I hit a little bit more than 1/4 throttle and then the throttle won’t really have any response until it gets to about 3/4 throttle. The last little bit of throttle before it hits completely wide open is extremely hard to push the lever down. I took the cover off the motor and pushed the throttle all the way down and it actually pushes the butterfly valve in the carburetor past further than horizontally. Hopefully this makes sense and I can get some insight on one or more of these issues!! Thanks!!
