1988 evinrude 40 hp. stator

hello yall, first post. so i think ive narrowed the problem of no spark down to the stator. my question is the part no. i have is 583656. i cant find it anywhere and was wondering if there was a superseded part number.

I do not believe that part # belongs on a 1988 model.------What is the model # of your motor ?-----Is serial # on powerhead the same as the midsection ?----From a 1000 miles away.-----There are 2 parts on the magneto plate ( 1988 model ) that are easy to test.-----A charge coil and a sensor coil.----Have you done ohm test on those?---Charged the battery ?----Load tested the battery?----Tested / inspected the starter motor ?----Remember I can not see , touch or hear your motor.
