All,
I want to verify that the plug on top of the engine that is recessed in the head and above the thermostat is in fact the best place to install my temperature sending unit. I don't know the water's flow path in this engine and want to make sure this will be reading the circulating water in the engine rather than the water going from the engine back to the lake. Mainly, I don't want to be trying to read a water temperature that won't be accurate when my thermostat closed.
Just purchased the boat and not overly familiar with these engine cooling systems, if some one wants to add on to this and explain the different water paths when the thermostat is closed and the thermostat is open, that would be useful for me. Thanks.
