1988 Force 125 trim/tilt pump

My 1988 Force trim/tilt pump is leaking fluid, and will not stay up. It seems to get on plane good, and stay there, but when i just put it up, it drops all the way down in minutes. I know there is a leak, but have not found it yet. I have a Seloc manual, but it is not helping me much. Can gaskets be raplaced on this or do I need a new pump.

There are a number of posts on this forum related to the same problem you are explaining, I would just go through the forum because most of the titles are the same as you have and they will answer your question.

I too have the same problem this is why I suggest this to you.

Look for replies by rritt He does a lot of work with these.
Also if it trims up and stays up while running but the tilt goes down to the trim position.I have found the trim hyd ram seals could be bad.
Some disagree with me but I HAVE found this does happen.J

classic symptoms of a valve body. tilt is a lot smaller piston so it needs more pressure to do same work. Plus the trim has 10x more leverage than tilt. End result when valve body leaks off pressure tilt is affected before trim. It will eventually get bad enough to bleed off trim too.
