1988 Force 85 helpW

I have a 1988 Force 85 on a Four Winns
18ft Freedom 170 bowrider. Took it out to water test
and got 23 mph at full throttle. Compression is perfect.
where should I start?

Take your phone and use the GPS app.
Go for a ride and see if the speed matches??

The pickup tube(pitot tube) is it in the down position?
Is the end still on it? It can break off.

What's the comp? Spark?
