1988 Force 85 horse

I receintly bought a 17 ft bow rider with a Force 85 horse, I've had it a year. The motor will start but only 2 of the 3 cyclinders are firing. Can you give me some ideas?

It could be the CDI Box or coil or Stator check by switching out the coils, then the CDI box

Check for spark at each plug with a spark tester (available at do it yourself auto stores) and the plugs themselves, check compression on all cylinders (one may be next to nothing), check for blockage in fuel delivery to all carbs (remove float bowls and see that there is fuel, check fuel lines etc.), peer through carb throats with throttle butterflies wide open to see if any reed petals are broken - not sure if you will get a good look without a borescope, better to remove the carbs for a good look-see. If all this checks out OK, post again with what you have done and the results.
