1988 Force/Gamefisher outboard problem

I had a coil go bad on my 1988 gamefisher 15 hp outboard last year. Well me being the idiot I am, I drilled off the stator thinking it was supposed to come off... The other coil is still fine and working but I cannot find a replacement stator to replace the one I drilled off. So is it possible to replace the coil I drilled off with some sort of inboard car type coil and a battery?

This guy has a ton of all kinds of parts.
Not sure but the whole plate might need to be replaced.The good part is they used that plate on MILLIONS of motors.J

Thanks I emailed them today so I will wait and see. But I found on google the stator plate but its no longer available. Do you know if they have a replacement part?
