I had a problem with the tilt / trim on my 1988 Johnson 110 (J110TLCCA) today and I'm looking for some quick help.
In a nutshell, the motor would go up but wouldn't go down. Suspecting the switch was the problem, I carved away the insulation on the 3 wires in the circuit and used a knife to make the contacts, once again, up worked but down didn't, so I figure the switch isn't the problem as I had effectively bypassed it. When I got the boat back home I hit the switch 3 or 4 times and it started working again, go figure! Anyhow, I do have the factory manual for the motor so I started reading about the relay and how to test it, simple enough but I don't know where it's located. Anyone know? Any other tips or advice?
