I believe that my Tilt & Trim needs fluid. The motor is in the up position. Can you tell me the location of where I add fluid and can it be done with boat in water or sitting on a lift because, at this time I do not have a trailer.

Thanks

Raise the motor fully and look near the center ram. The trim motor is on one side, the resevoir on the other. On the resevoir next to the center ram is a large flathead screw. That is the oil level plug. It should be above the water line on your boat, although you may have get wet to reach it. Dexron III ATF is suitable and much cheaper than the specified fluid.

Have the engine in the extreme up position. THe reservoir is on the starboard side (opposite the PTT electric motor). Remove the large slotted screw and the sealing O Ring behind it.

Fill the reservoir to the overflowing point. Install the O Ring and screw. Run the engine up and down a few times then re-check the fluid level.

Good to see you're still checking in Joe. Did you finish auctioning off your parts collection?

Marc..... No, I've got a few thousand parts to take pictures of, ads to get together, boxes to pack. I'll probably be a couple more weeks (grin). And then there's household items my wife and friends give me to sell. Geeeez, I hardly have time to attend these forums anymore. Now, if I was only making some money.
