I have this outboard on a stand for storage and cannot get it to lower down. It is trimmed up about 20 degrees. I did unscrew the manual bleed screw and it will not budge ,what else could it be? The tilt trim was working when it was on the boat. Does anyone know how to put power to the tilt and trim with it on a stand? I dont have the boat that it was on any more so I dont have the controls for it. So any help would be great.
Thanks.

If you put 12V to the green wire it will lower.

Ok I have a green with white stripe. What wire would raise?

The blue wire will raise. Make sure the locking lever is in the released position on the swivel bracket. If the lever is holding the engine up, you may have to raise it slightly to get the lever to release.

Just remember, blue is UP like the sky, green is DOWN like the GRASS

Ok just to make sure is are the wires going through the main red plug or is it a seperat plug? I see a black plug that has a blue with white and green with white. When we took the engine off I did not see what was unhooked.

That is probably the plug for the trim motor.

Ok here are some pics of the plugs if this helps. The one with just green and blue wires the green wire goes to ground.

This one has 5 wires going to it and white and black go to ground but in the pic they are not shown

The two wire connector should connect the trim motor to the trim electrical box on the back of the powerhead. The 5 wire connector connects the control box to that trim electrical box.

So I should use the green and blue wires coming from the 5 pin connector to raise or lower the engine?

Just look at the trim motor, follow the wires to the nearest split and connect the* 12v there.

As "High Trim" above suggests..... trace the electric wires from the PTT electric motor back to its plastic plug in connector, then unplug it.

The electric motor is a dual polarity motor, meaning that if the battery wires (jumpers) are connected to those two PTT wires in one way, the electric motor will run in one direction. Hook ther battery wires up in the opposite direction and the electric motor will run in the opposite direction.

This will allow you to lower the engine to wherever you want it to be.

The manual release valve will allow the engine to drop to the extended trim rams but no further.

Ok I will give it a try tomorrow. I just don't want to let the magic smoke out of the wires. Thanks for the help.

So should I put negative to blue and positive to green?

Positive to green and negative to blue; if trim motor is good, it should lower.
