1988 Johnson tilt stuck

Was riding along and motor start raising up and went all the way up, tilt motor still running. Had to kill all power to stop motor running. Changed w new tilt trim switch didn’t work. I can unplug power at the connection under cowling is the only way I can stop tilt motor from running. HELP

Check the relays. Either one is shorted or a wire is.

What does the relay look like, is it mounted on the tilt motor?

It's mounted on a panel on the motor and it's about 1" square. There's two of them and they are side by side.
