1988 Mariner 25Hp

I have a 1988 Mariner 25HP out board. When starting for the first time of the day it will only fire on one cylinder. After reving up and down for 15 or so minutes the bottom cylinder will begin to fire. I have ruled out the plug, wire and coil. Can the CDI box be working part time??<br />Any thoughts would be appriciated

Ahoy, Taurus.<br /><br />Sounds like a temp related failure to me. Not at all uncommon.<br /><br />Good luck.

Yep. the cd unit can operate part of the time, check the spark with a TIMING LIGHT while the motor is running. If no spark on one cylinder then proble probobly switchbox.
