I have a 1988 4.3 omc 2bbl sterndrive. Boat runs fine ... little slow on top end (under by about 200-300 rpm) checked timing and it is off. I have the manual (OMC fatory manual)
and feel like a noob for having to ask but how do i get the distributor loose to adjust the timing?:facepalm:

Right at the base of the distributor is a clamp that goes around the distributor and has a bolt that tightens it to the block. Takes a 9/16" wrench to loosen.

Item 7 is the clamp, 38 is the bolt. 6 is a gasket.
