1988 omc outdrive mounting

installing gasket on out drive mounting and noticed gasket covers oring seal around water port should that gasket make contact with oring or do i trim gasket so oring will make contact with opposing metal surface . not finding anything in manuel about this

Nope no need to trim it just make sure the mating surfaces are clean and coat the gasket on both sides with OMC gasket sealer or equivalent.
