Finally decided it was time to rip up the carpet and begin to restore everything. I am thinking about building a sun pad over the back and engine but am unsure of how I want to do it. Please reply back with ideas and comments.
I will put up picks soon. The gelcoat on the sides is very faded and a compound did not good.. Any ideas?
I plant on also installing a monster wake tower which I already have. Thanks

hi james...

welcome to iboats !

we can and will walk you right thru this project....no worries.

lots of sunpad conversions have been done.....but it may not be your best bet...the pics will say for sure.

as far as the gellcoat....

what compounds did you use?...and what polisher at what speed?....a little car toy wont do....gellcoat is a polyester pigmented fiberglass resin....and needs cpecial speeds to work properly.

as far as the tower....no worries.....but that is the last thing you will want to do....take care of the hull first....after that is all done...then add your tower....you may be removing the cap...and a tower will make it that much harder.

cheers

I used some car compound I believe it was composition compound and what do you mean by what speed, I did it by hand. Sorry I'm pretty new to boating. I'm only 16 and on a pretty small budget lol. How would you suggest me do this properly and what works best for you? Also the stickers on the side are in ok shape but not the best in the world. Should I remove them or keep?
Thanks

boat empty.jpgnew seats.jpgboat outside.jpg

I tried to upload some pictures. I bought the boat last september and took it out probably 10 times and it runs great. I only paid 1900 for it and it has pretty low miles for its age. The seats were in very bad shape so i purchased this set from ********.com and they are great seats.

So how would yall suggest i compound my boat. I am fairly new to this.
Thanks

sorry i bought the seats from ********* website. And the engine cover was all busted up and un-repairable so thats when i got the idea. and i figured new carpet would be a plus also. Would black be a good choice for carpet?
