My johnson 20 hp has been my no fail motor for some time now and It shocked me when I took it on a trip to Tampa bay and I started running out to the sky way and it died out and was steaming. I tested it the night before and everything was all good but I didn't check the tell tale stream when I first put it in but once it overheated I looked and nothing was coming out. I took it home dropped the lower unit and the water pump was melted. I got a new one tested still nothing. So I went ahead took off the head and the water jackets and found a little chunk of something took it out clean it up got new gaskets and put it all back together and tried it and still nothing so now im stumped and im looking for some advice do I I need to pull the whole block and check the grommets and stuff under there or what.
