Hello,
Hoping someone can help me with this stupid trim problem I have had since I owned this boat.
When I bought the boat it was sitting in a slip in Newport Beach not running . When I got it home the drive would drop overnight. After cleaning, freshening up. Changed the pump it was all good stays up no problem for months. When it’s in the water everything works as it should unless it’s under power, then it will not trim up. You can see it trying by the volt gauge fluctuating. It will trim down under power. And it will hold whatever trim it’s at under power. So far I have tried switching pump again under warranty. And Switching the lines. With no success. There is nothing leaking at the rams and the pump has 10w 30 in it because the pump company said to use what the factory suggested. Only thing I can think of is dirty oil but After 2 pumps I assume it’s somewhat fresh. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Try putting trim hydraulic oil in it first off.

your trim cylinders need to be rebuilt. your seals are shot

the seals last about 15 years and you got 34 out of them. consider yourself very lucky

I got my cylinder seals from star marine. $75 to rebuild the cylinders. no need to remove them from the boat or remove the drive. just prop the drive up and

look at the last few pages of the link in my signature for a few pics.

its about a 2 beer process

SAE 30, AW46, AW64, 20W50, ATF, UTF are all acceptable oils. they all work, the pump and cylinders do not care.
