1988 yam pro 50 oil problem

While out on the river the other day my oil light was flashing between yellow and green. The first thing I did was check the oil. It was fine. Any ideals on how to fix it? Also what do I have to do to disconnect the oil system and just mix it 50 to 1?

Light works off float, only tells you level, check wiring, or float, stuck. That is a 100 to 1 engine with a simple and reliable oil system, I would not disable. MartyD
