I have a 1988 9.9 2 stroke with a problem I don't know where to start with. Last time out it started fine (electric start) but in neutral it would not rev up with the throttle, once you put it in gear, it ran fine. Last night I used it again but later in the night, started it for the run back and even in gear I could not get it to rev beyond idle. Ended up running the 6 miles back at idle speed. The linkage seemed to be operating properly but at this point I don't know where to start the troubleshooting. Any ideas? Thanks
