1989 225 runs eradic,

The motor will usally run perfect ounce warmed up but will sometime lose power and surge to full RPM randomly. Will also seem to not plane off at time and then kick into full power. I have changed fuel filter and water separater as well as plugs. Still the same. Any sugestion would be of great help. Coils carbs ?????

probably a little of each, carbs/fuel pump & ignition system. Hook a secondary shop tach(one that reads from plug wires) to each cylinder at a time & run. Does the reading come & go away?

eve.....think I'd put my money on a carb overhaul. Sounds like you got junk floating around in the carbs. If it's been a while since the carbs were overhauled or you don't know the last time, give it consideration. Rabidfish does have a good point on fire. Take a look at all the ground connections....specially the power pack grounds. Dirty/lose grounds can cause intermittent lose of power.
