Anyone know the difference between the 1989 60 horse evinrude and the 70 or 75 horse? Got a guy selling a 60 horse for a great deal but I was really looking for a 70 or 75. I know some motors use the same powerheads and just different carbs. Any input would be great, as I would probably only buy it if its a fairly easy upgrade. I'm replacing an 89 50 horse 2 cylinder with it. I could probably get more for my 50 then this guys is selling his 60 for. The 3rd cylinder may be worth the hassle of switching over, even if its stuck as a 60 horse.

Also, it has a solid 100 psi on all 3 cylinders. Does that seem a little low?

that is low compression but since it's the same on all 3 i would try a different gauge. The Compression on A Rebuild Would Be good 140 Psi If it is still 100 psi i would stay away from it. The 60/70 up motors are the same 56 did block. The 75 hp motor is a 49 did block it's A Good Motor But The 60/70 Hp Motors Are More Powerful And Overall A Better Choice.
