I have a 1989 TL60 VRO Evinrude. I have the foot off and the old water pump off. The kit I bought is a Sierra w/housing. It is alittle different than the one that was on the engine. The kit did not come with any instructions and my manual does not show a detailed parts list picture.
I have three questions:
1: does it matter which side of the impeller is facing up ?? it has two X's on one side of it , which is also the side that has a slightly recessed groove around the rubber
2:I have a very skinny rubber "O" ring about the size of a quarter.{ There is no grove inside the housing like the old housing,which had a thick rubber o ring, and a groove for the ring to go into.} It's too big for the water tube ... it will fit in the recessed groove on the impeller but the groove is alot wider than the o ring.
3:I have a thick "o" ring that I think goes with the water tube pick up... not sure if it goes under the plastic sleeve that slides into the housing ... or in between the sleeve and the plastic water tube ???
