1989 6hp evinrude won't stay running

very clean 6hp evinrude a little hard to start unless it's full throttle, then quickly to neutral to shift, then to full throttle and it will run great, let off throttle and it dies everytime. new gas tank, right fuel mixture,but it just won't start in idle and keep running.

Welcome to iboats. I would start with a good cleaning and rebuilding of the carb and check the fuel pump. When it starts to die, pump your primer bulb and see if it keeps running.
