Hi folks... first post here...
I recently disassembled the carb on my 6hp '89 Yamaha after diagnosing that I had a clogged main jet... (would start and then die when given throttle)
I took the carb out, cleaned it up... (it was not as bad as I thought it would look)
Main jet was clogged, cleaned the entire thing, and when reassembling, I could not get the main jet needle to seat correctly when putting it back in the housing...
It eventually got stuck, long story short is that I had to drill it out... I did not ruin the housing (which was surprising to me)
Any ideas on what might be keeping that needle from seating correctly?
I was thinking maybe it was still gummed up in the housing...
Anyway, while waiting on parts, I thought I would ask the experts...
Any help is appreciated!
CF.
