Replaced a defective warning horn, then gave no oil flow warning so I disconnected VRO and started premixing, also used OMC tuning solution injected into fitting on primer solenoid, ran much smoother after tuner at idle speed on water hose. In the water running fine at idle speeds but would not accelerate beyond 3000RPM, wasnt enough power to plain my boat. I noticed if I hit the primer in key switch the engine would leap in power and the boat would then plain out, but would slow down unless I kept pushing the key switch primer. I thought the problem was the fuel pump, replaced the diaphragm no help, hooked fuel line directly into carbs bypassing fuel pump and hooked separate line up to fuel pump and watched fuel flow at idle speed fuel was coming from pump at higher RPM the gas flow stopped took off the pulse hose from the crankcase at idle speed was giving a good puff of air but at higher speeds I didnt notice any appreciable air flow, is there a measurable test I can run on the pulse form the crankcase? Considering putting an electric fuel pump on to replace the mechanical one, any ideas about the pressure needed if I switched to electric fuel pump? Any help would be greatly appreciated
