Model 856y9c/serial 1087. did not have spark on cyl. #3. Bought new cdi & installed, still no spark so I changed the cdi's around (there is only 2 of them on this motor) & wired accordingly. Now the cdi that was in the front posistion is now in the back & back in the front posistion. Now I have spark on cyl #3 & not on cyl. #1. Both of the cdi units use the orange wire off the respective box, what I mean is the front cdi controls both cyl. #1 (orange wire) & cyl. #2 (red wire). The rear cdi controls cyl. #3 (orange wire). I called up dealer and explained the suituation and he exchanged the cdi for another cdi. Installed it and the same thing happened, no spark on Cyl.#3, switched cdi's around again & now there is spark on 3 and not 1 again. Is it possible that 2 cdi's are bad. Also I think these might be aftermarket because on the cdi decal it says Force type ignition 116-8301 & it was $200.00 vs $310.00 for another brand. Might this be my problem ? thank Ray
