Have a 9.9hp Mariner outboard 2 stroke with a fuel leak issue. While the engine is on AND off, fuel pours out of the hole where the choke lever comes down and hits the spring loaded button off to the side of the carb.

If I press down the button fuel squirts out heavily and once released fuel freely pours out. The engine also runs poorly now, does not reliably start and is down on power.

Will post some today. Did I really say down on power? Hehe it barely has any to begin with! Was reliable for a solid 8 years with no trouble.

The enricher needs to be rebuilt. It comes with the proper carb rebuild kit. Which i would do also. If that rotted out. small pieces are in the carb. Best to get carb kit that has Carb/fuel pump/enricher. kit
Like 70 bucks. Do it all at once. Piece of mind.
8 years, it was time.
Don't forget to change the impellar,Also

Sounds about right.

I took it apart last night and the rubber on the inside of the enricher was chewed up and that must be how the gas is pouring out of the small hole on the side. Initially I thought it was some sort of gunk build up but when I peeled the rest back I realized it was rubber.

Thanks for the help, I will look for a full carb rebuild kit through my local dealer. However I suspect it'll be double that through mine...
