Recently, while boating, one of the fuel lines fell off. I lost a lot of fuel, so upon discovering this I re-attached the line and loaded the boat on the trailer for refueling. I launched the boat the following morning and pulled two 10 year olds on a tube for about 5 minutes at which time the engine began to "sound" differant. After an investigation I found one of the oil injection lines off at one of the four carbs. I re-attached and stopped pulling tubers. The engine has a "rattle" under load but seems to clear up after the boat planes. The compression is exactly 140 psi on all four cylinders. Is it possible I have bearing damage but no cylinder damage? Is there anyway to verify without splitting the case? And if I do have bearing damage what should be my next step?

Thanks, for the help!!

This does not bode well. If the oil line was off that cylinder wasn't getting any oil. Once the oil already in there washed out (probably measured in tens of seconds) you probably suffered serious damage. Are you sure it was the oil line from the oil pump?

How long was the fuel line off. That's not good either.

Yes I am sure it was the oil line. The fuel line was off for roughly 5 to 10 min. Of course boat would not plane at the time.
