Hey guys - got a new motor that I'm playing with - bought it with no spark - bought new stator, trigger base, and power pack & installed them and still have no spark - When I installed the pack I left the harness unplugged that has the black/yellow kill switch wires in it ... There are also a few other sensor wires in this harness, but I figured it wouldn't have to be connected to get spark, correct? I would love any input on how to proceed! Thanks guys!

That engine has to crank at least 250 rpm's in order to fire the ignition system on that engine. Low cranking rpm's (weak cranking battery) could be a problem. If it's a 150S model, it has the vented flywheel. Are all of the magnets still glued to the inside of the flywheel? Your assumption is correct: the other sensor wires left off should not be an issue.

Time for some do-it-yourself electrical troubleshooting. Check out this website: cdielectronics.com. They have some great info. Specifically, check/test the output voltages on the new timer base and the stator. You'll need to rent a special "peak-reading" voltmeter, as your household one won't work. The cranking output on the stator should be perhaps 150 volts. The timer base something like 0.3 volts. Check the website for the specific voltages for those components for your model year. Any voltages under the minimum-the part is condemned. Take these new parts back for a replacement or refund. If they check ok, I'd suspect the power pack. Post your test results-there are many on this board will in to help further.

Ok ... Should've mentioned this earlier ... I've got two of the identical motors in my yard right now ... The stator, timer base, & pack I'm using are brand new and have successfully fixed the other motor ... I have since removed them and installed on the motor in question ... That said, The "bad part" theory is pretty much forgone So I'm looking for a bit deeper approach here ... If this is all new and working... What's next?

Either you have a bad ground somewhere, or you have another critical wire left off. I'd connect up any loose wires so that the system is wired identically to your other engine. You can remove the red canon plug (disconnect the control box at the plug under the cowling.) Crank the engine by jump-starting the starter with a known strong battery and a set of automotive jumper cables. If you get fire at the plugs when it cranks-there is a problem in the control box/wiring itself.
