1989 evinrude 25hp can't get it go please help

i have a 1989 evinrude 25hp it will start and begin to idle but after 3 or 4 minutes just boggs out then it will start up again and idle fine but when i put it in to gear and open up the throttle it just shuts down and won't run any suggestion would be great thanks

Sounds like a dirty carb.

check the fuel system. is the bulb staying hard, does it make any difference if you pump the bulb? clean the carbs. also, check if it's pumping water properly.

the water is pumping good and the bulb stays hard just cleaned the carb and seems to be working great thanks guys

could be a ruptured fuel pump diaphram. remove and see if you see fuel around the vacuum hole .
