1989 evinrude 60 stalls ....

hello im new to boating ,, i bought an 87 magnum with an 1989 60 evinrude ,, at first the compression was low 90's but even on all 3 cylinders,, ebgine ran ok ,, i did the seafoam cleaning and changed the plugs ,, it runs fine sounds good and streams water ok ,, but it stalls when i go to put it in gear.. it idles a little low ,,
what stinks is it stalls the most at the dock when im trying load theboat on a trailer which i need practice ,,maybe a carbuertator adjustment ? or bad gas mixture ? any advice is appreciated ..

50:1 mix, if premixing. Might adjust the idle adjustment screw (throttle).

90 psi is way too low.------Test with another gauge.-----Check for spark on all 3 leads.

90psi is pretty low for compression but if its running you still have some life left in it.. I would say your problem is fuel related.. check all your fuel connections make sure there's no leaks. If it has a fuel filter make sure its clean and replace it.. This is a dumb one but make sure your fuel tank vent is open and venting because what you are experiencing could be a vapor lock..

I see many folks who do not hesitate to install a new starter / powerpack / stator / timer base etc, etc.----The same folks are scared to pull the cylinderhead off at the risk of having to replace a $ 50 gasket !!!

thanks everyone for the comments .. i'll try the fuel filter ,, just got a used 15 gallon tank didnt checkthe vent ,, and ill check the adjustment screw
