1989 Evinrude Super 14. Any one ever hear of this model? The lower unit looks like an old style 25 with the small prop. Just saw it in local classifieds.
Yes that is the newer 15 HP motor powerhead.---------Special adapter plate to join it to the older 25 hp midsection / lower unit.---------Marketed as a commercial model.
don't know if the older 25 l.u. would be more robust than the newer 15 (and could be worse, I guess) -- something to research. If it's in good shape and the price is decent, sounds like a good bet. I wonder if the owner knows what it is.
Thanks for the info guys. The asking price is $700 with tank, lower mid range for 9.9-15 Johnson/Evinrudes 2 strokes in this area (Ottawa-Gatineau). I think I'll hold off for one with the newer gear case.
