You do not say what model you are referring to, but Ill assume you have the large slotted screw on the front of the resevoir.

Cycle the unit to the fully trimmed out position, fill the resevoir, replace the screw, cycle the unit 5 to 6 times, the system is self bleeding, and cycling it will remove most of the air that is trapped. Once you have cycled it 5 to 6 times, cycle it to the fully trimmed out position again, top it off, then cycle it again. Continue doing this until you can no longer fill the resevoir.

Be sure to support the motor with the trail locks before opening the fill reservoir for filling.

Thanks for the reply.The outboard is 225 hp

Even more important to block the engine in the UP position. The weight of that engine coming down could take a hand off.
