I just replaced the head gasket , fired it up and ran it for a while. everything seems fine, and the manual says nothing about re-torquing the head bolts, but I have seen in other threads that i they should be re-torqued. If so, when should I do it?? Also, The parts house did not have a full set of new head bolts (10 of 18), so I had to re-use some of the old ones. Since I broke 3 getting the head off, and don't want to go through that again, I was wondering if I could replace the old bolts one at a time without messing up the head gasket seal?? Thanks a million. Greg

Hey Greg,
I re-torque heads after the first trip to the water and then check 'um again after five or so hours. Replacing one bolt at a time shouldn't cause any problems.

c/6

Hooty
