1989 Force 125hp lower unit swap

This guy has a ealry 80's 21 ft Wellcraft Center Console with a later model force 120. I believe the year of the motor is somewhere between (1991-1994). The lower unit is not there. This boat has a 20in transom. I have a 1989 Force 125hp that will fit on a 25inch transom. Will the 1989 Force 125hp lower unit fit on the (1991-1994) Force 120hp?

Search for Frank Acampora's posts. He has answered the lower interchangability about a hundred times.

Thanks John for the insight. There are a lot of posts about whether or not the swap will work. What I am also looking for is whether I can use the lower unit off a 125hp 25in(transom height) and use it on a 120hp 20in(transom height). I saw 1 post that mentioned it, but it did not go into a lot of details. I am not sure if that those comments in the post where revelant to motors with 2 or 1 piece shafts.

I don't think this particular swap will work because of shaft types and lengths. See my answer to your PM.
