1989 force 125hp need to replace float seats in carbs

hi ..these carbs have the press in fit type float needle seats

Ive been told to screw a dent puller into the seat itself and knock the the seats out

is this true ?

how do i remove seats safetly with out ruining carbs

As far as I know, the only way to remove them may damage them. Screwing a small bolt into the hole and popping them out. The other problem is that I've never found a place that sells replacement seats. Unless they're damaged, I wouldn't recommend trying it.

+1 on leaving the seats alone. I have not seen problems with needle valve seats unless they were super corroded. If you have a little corrosion, try lapping the seat with a new needle valve and fine valve grinding compound.
